What’s a visit to Ireland without a visit to a pub? My thoughts exactly! We ended a stroll through the Cathedral district in Belfast in the The Duke of York to taste the famous dark brown Guinness beer. In the past doctors regularly adviced people with health issues to drink a pint of guinnes each day. It’ nice to know that we are actually doing something good for our bodies when ordering this. The taste is Nice, but a bit too strong for me to be honest. Confession: we ordered a Lager and wine next. The pub is heavily -and beautifully – decorated with images of boxers, century old whiskies and advertisements of alcohol from all over the world. Fun fact is that the Band Snow Patrol – born and raised here – played their first gig in this pub. And they are not the only famous musicians coming from Belfast, but more about that tomorrow!
