The cities in Rajasthan, India are famous for their palaces, silk fabrics and glass colored bracelets. You would almost forget how beautiful the scenery is between these cities. Traveling by train is great and fast, but I suggest you hire a car (and driver) on you way from Udaipur to Jodhpur. On a Rajasthan road trip you will see small villages filled with playing children, a water pump operated by a walking cow and beautiful desert nature. Yes it’s dry, but every now and then you cross a river, a deserted waterhole, beautiful roads fenced by cactuses, a bright pink or lemon yellow sari that pops up out of the dry yellow grass and even a roadside market selling nothing but aluminum in the middle of the desert.
