This is what I imagined when I dreamed of Ireland. Soft green rolling hills, a few sheep, a rough sea and grey clouds giving everything that mystical atmosphere. We are driving on the Causeway Coastal Route between Belfast and Londonderry in Northern Ireland. The meandering road is said to be one of the most scenic ones and we couldn’t agree more. If I could give an award for most beautiful drive this one would definitely be in my top 3 (together with The High Way 1 near Big Sur and the dusty roads in Kashmir). The views are spectacular and with every curve you see another castle or cute white village – a few houses, a church and a pub. Yes, lots of pubs. But more about that – and a very nice beer – tomorrow.
