Cheesy, I know, but Nice is nice and that’s the truth. Especially the old part of town is great for a late lunch with spaghetti vongole, polenta, cheese salads and super thin crispy pizza’s. Today we walked the Promenade des Anglais, a boulevard as long as the city. Did you know the original walkway along the coast was constructed by beggars who fled the cold winters in the North of Europe and were put to work by rich Eglishmen who wanted to spend the winter here?
Anyway, today on this promenade, you could still find Christmas trees decorated in silver and red with a bright blue sky and sunshine in the back. The see was a combination of turquoise and dark green and quite wild. I could not believe it’s mid January and people are still swimming in the sea (ok, only the ones who lost their minds), and sitting outside with a woolen cardigan for lunch and wine! Salut!
