We continue our drive on the Causeway Coastal Route to see Giant’s Causeway and all the other must-see sights along this drive. But today we will share the beautiful hamlets and cute pubs you stumble upon on your way from Belfast to Londonderry. Right around lunchtime we made a pitstop in Carnlough. A beautiful coastal village -again with some houses, lovely shops, a church and a pub. There’s a little harbour where you’ll see colorful fishermen boats waiting to be taken out. It’s the perfect Ireland image: freshly painted white houses, green hills, some boats and the dark sea and crisp sky in the background. Love. It was in this village – in the Londonderry Arms Hotel pub to be exact – that we discovered Harp beer and picked up an addiction for shortbread cookies. Make sure to order just that, together with a tasty grilled cheese sandwich and you will be fueled up for the second part of your drive.
P.S. We want to thank the owner for giving us a Harp glass. It’s still our “special beer glass” at home and reminds us of a great trip!
