Hiking and biking are probably the easiest ways to explore Nantucket, but if you want to see every corner of the island it’s better (and a whole lot more fun) to rent a 4WD Jeep. We got our Jeep Wrangler at Affordable Rentals on Beach Street and loved touring the deserted beaches. The trip to Great Point Light House is really special; to get there you need to cross the Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge and drive over the smallest strip of the island where you’ll see water on both sides. (see the map below) Pretty special. We also loved watching the seals on the beach of Sconset. My favourite part of the island? Eel Point where you’ll get a glimpse of the most beautiful beach houses. Put the top down, wind in your hair and enjoy the sun, sand and this amazing island. We can’t wait to be back!
P.S. Earlier this year we published our Cape Cod and Nantucket travel story in Dutch newspaper Het Parool. Check out the story here. And check out more Cape Cod and Nantucket posts here, here and here.
