You’ll find a few different temples in Chinatown, but the biggest one is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. It’s got its name because it reputedly houses on one of Buddha Shakyamuni’s teeth. We were mainly awed by the immense buddha statue inside and all the colorful relics and objects decorating the place. Even the trays of food and flowers for a ceremony, set up outside the temple matched the color clashing interior, the red lanterns outside and the stalls selling amethyst, rose quartz and jade necklaces. In fact everything in Chinatown is bright, colorful and one big cacophony of print, color, sound and smell. Even the little tins filled with jasmine tea. We bought a few and every time I walk into my kitchen they remind me of our time spent there…
