If you want to see some more amazing sights of Bonaire, you should head northeast, following the Kaminda Lagun. At the end of this road you’ll find a secluded laguna filled with flamingos. Even more spectacular is the rough sea at Boca Washikemba. To see this, head up the sandy road right before the end of the lake and drive towards the sea. This moon landscape is quite rocky, so make sure your car can handle it. The sea is too rough to swim in, but watching the waves crash the grey rocks and a few brave fisherman standing on the edge of these pointy cliffs is quite amazing.
(Make sure to wear closed or thick-soled shoes: the rocks are quite sharp here and can easily puncture your flip-flops!)
