As a vegetarian trying the local food is almost always a challenge. Luckily the photographer is an omnivore, so he was willing to try and taste the famous iguana dish at the Rose Inn restaurant. Rose Inn is an open air restaurant in Rincon, where white tables and chairs sit in the shade of big palm- and mango trees. It’s the perfect place to mingle with locals and tourists and try a Bonarian specialty.
When we were visiting Rose (I presume it was her…) just opened her bar and buffet and we could choose between chicken, fish, vegetables, corn, beans and the dish lots of locals crave: iguana. It looked a bit funny, but according to Maarten it tastes like chicken. Oh and if you’re hot and thirsty – we bet you are – they do serve the coldiest beer!
